Dance festival/extravaganza Listen Out is officially back for another year of hyped up hip-hop and electronic music, having announced their star-studded 2018 lineup on Tuesday.
Rap favourite A$AP Rocky returns to Australia as possibly the biggest name on the bill, with a recently completed studio album-full of new material that fans can certainly expect to hear at least some of at these shows. Closely behind him on the lineup in terms of notability would be EDM legend Skrillex, who last played on our shores in 2014 following the release of his debut studio album, ‘Recess’.
Making their Australian debut is hip-hop collective/self-described boyband BROCKHAMPTON, who generated an insane amount of buzz last year with three incredible albums, all released just months apart, and are set to release their fourth, ‘Puppy’, this June. Other noteworthy overseas visitors include U.S. rappers Lil Skies and Noname, who was only here last December for her debut Australian appearances, as well as UK production duos Snakehips and CamelPhat, plus grime superstar Skepta.
Leading the Australian front is party-starters Confidence Man, who are fresh off their acclaimed debut album, ‘Confident Music for Confident People’, with Triple J Unearthed treasures Haiku Hands bringing their funky and incredibly danceable blend of genres to stages across the country as well. Other home-grown talent on the list includes producers Enschway and Godlands, with more local acts still to be announced.
Tickets for the Melbourne (22nd of September) and Brisbane (30th) shows have unfortunately already sold out, but some still remain for Perth (23rd) and Sydney (29th). Get on it, if you haven’t already!
