Cub Sport Subverts Masculinity with Second Album and Video for ‘O Lord’

Brisbane indie-pop quartet Cub Sport are set to release their second studio album, ‘BATS,’ on September 22.  The announcement follows the powerful lead single ‘O Lord,’ an emotional ballad that saw lead singer Tim Nelson express his attitude towards coming out as gay and in a relationship with fellow bandmate Sam last year.

In regards to the writing process, Nelson felt that he was “free to by my true self… but what I didn’t expect was the realisation that when you get everything you’ve ever wanted you suddenly have everything to lose. This song ended up being my way of grappling with those feelings.”

Now, after hundreds of thousands of plays along with featuring in several Apple and Spotify playlists, the group have shared the video for ‘O Lord.’ Described by Nelson as “the visual soulmate for the song,” the stellar video only builds anticipation for ‘BATS, out September 22.
