DOWNLOAD Festival is Coming to Australia in 2018

Yes, you heard me. Download Festival is coming to Downunder in 2018. The event is due to be held on Saturday 24th of March at Flemington Race Course, Melbourne.

The organisers have made many comments on their emerging project, including,

“[Download] will start in Melbourne with the intention of expanding each year to eventually becoming a nationally touring event. The lineup will reflect the one-day event — and as the event grows [it] will become more in line with the UK festival.”

This is exciting news after the bankruptcy of Soundwave in 2015, leaving Australia without a similar festival or alternative.

Download, although starting small, is coming to Melbourne with what seems to be a massive line-up with hits such as Korn, Prophets of Rage and many more international acts are due to feature, as well as Aussie-born acts such as Northlane, Trophy Eyes and King Parrot.
