Aussie pop protégé Eves Karydas (FKA Eves the Behaviour) is back and bolder than ever with her newest single Further Than The Planes Fly. The song comes fresh off the back of a three-year hiatus and the release of Karydas’s single There For You, which dropped late last year to critical acclaim and quickly garnered over 1.2 million streams on Spotify.
Further Than The Planes Fly sees Karydas embrace her electro-pop Eves the Behaviour roots while shifting effortlessly into a deeper, more experimental sound. Channeling the bouncy synths and deep melodic hooks of acts like Broods and Vera Blue, we see Eves coming into her own as she explores the themes of reputation, peer pressure and integrity to one’s self.
“This song is about letting go of reputations and the parts of your life that are influenced by what other people think.” says Karydas. “It seems easier said than done, but one day the sky just sort of opened up and I started seeing things differently. I wrote this song off the back of that energy. I felt like I could do anything that day.”
Having started making music at the tender age of 11 in her hometown of Cairns in Far North Queensland, the pop singer hit a few musical home runs early in life under her former moniker Eves the Behaviour. Now based in London, the 23-year-old is gearing up for a massive 2018, with a new album touted for release later this year.
