High Tyde are back with a brand you track ‘Do What You Want‘ and it’s the perfect song for your summer playlist. I first heard High Tyde last year when they released their debut EP Fuzz, and ever since I’ve been patiently waiting for them to release a debut. Now 2015, they have blessed us with “Do What You Want” and it’s definitely going to be on a constant replay.
For those who haven’t heard of these guys before, they are a Brighton based four-piece band consisting of Cody Thomas-Matthew (vocals & bass), Connor Cheetham (guitar), Spencer Tobias-Williams (guitar) & Louis Semlekan-Faith (drums). “Do What You Want” shows a growth in the bands sound compared to previous releases. One thing is for sure, they have definitely mastered the art of writing catchy choruses. Their vocals often remind me of General Fiasco meshed with Two Door Cinema Club circa 2010. Both bands feature that distinctive indie pop sound, accompanied by catchy lyrics.
The video is made up of fan clips, which fans from all over the world sent to the band. They received over 300 videos and picked out their favourites which turned into this montage. The message behind ‘Do What You Want’ is about those precious times in your life when you need to have no regrets. This video really represents that message.
Can’t wait to hear more from these guys. Don’t forgot you can stream all their songs on Spotify
