Arguably one of the strongest active hip-hop artists today, Joey Bada$$ is heading to Australia and New Zealand in January 2018. The twenty-two-year-old New Yorker was previously announced in the lineup for Victorian festival Sugar Mountain earlier this month, followed today by a fully fledged tour announcement that visits Auckland, Brisbane, Perth and Sydney.
Despite rapping for a mere five years, Joey’s discography is already force to be reckoned with. His second studio album, “ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$” was met with widespread acclaim by way of its politically charged nature and sharp delivery, not to mention features from none other than Schoolboy Q and J. Cole. Additionally, his now iconic debut mixtape, “1999” (2012) is a brilliant exhibition of the then seventeen-year-old’s talent; fusing old school production with the perspective of a young man growing up in New York.
It should go without saying that this will be one of Australia’s best hip-hop shows in 2018, and cannot be missed. Dates below, details at Frontier Touring.
