Kendrick Lamar Announces the Long-Awaited DAMN Australian Tour

Arguably the leading figure in hip-hop today, Kendrick Lamar has revealed an Australian tour for his critically acclaimed fourth album, ‘DAMN’. The twelve-time GRAMMY award-winning artist returns to Australian shores in July, visiting Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney to accompany his headline slot at the sold-out Splendour in the Grass festival in Byron Bay.

Having toured throughout the U.S, UK and Europe last year, Aussie fans can expect an exhibition of Lamar’s sublime and now iconic discography, featuring the likes of the breakout ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’ (2012), the politically charged ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ (2015) and the raw ‘Untitled Unmastered’ (2016), not to mention last year’s blockbuster ‘DAMN’.

If there was any doubt of Lamar’s talent, ‘DAMN’ demonstrates the mesmerising ability of the Compton rapper to fuse thoughtful concepts with hard-hitting sounds fit for a live arena tour. From popular singles like ‘Humble’ to ‘Loyalty’ to under the radar gems like ‘Fear’ and ‘DNA’, it’s no surprise that Lamar’s fourth studio album solidified his position in the greatest rappers of all time.

2018 has already been a monumental year for Kendrick, lending his creative mastery to the soundtrack for Marvel Studios blockbuster ‘Black Panther’, winning five Grammy awards out of seven nominations for ‘DAMN’, and earning the number one spot in the Triple J Hottest 100 here in Australia. Needless to say, there’s no stopping Kendrick Lamar’s dominance, and will undoubtedly perform a show to remember for Aussies come July.
