Sydney tropical-pop artist, L D R U has dropped his latest single, Next To You and announced his Keeping Score national tour. L D R U, is a solo project from Drew Carmody, whose huge hit, Give It All cemented his name in the ‘trapical’ scene, back in 2012. He is also hugely known for Carmada, a collaborative project with fellow producer, Yahtzel, with their debut single, Maybe, which was on high circulation on Australian radio airwaves. His latest single follows on from his certified platinum and top 15 ARIA single, Keeping Score, which featured the gorgeous vocals of Paige IV. This time he has teamed up with Brisbane singer, Savoi to provide vocals for Next To You.

L D R U’s latest single, Next To You was premiered on Triple J’s Good Nights with Linda Marigliano before being immediately released on all digital providers. Next To You opens with etheric synths before glitchy, swirling production begins to churn and unique, cheery vocals from Savoi. Next To You brings back the good vibes from Summer, with upbeat production, epic hooks and unique samples of glitchy, retro video games. The whole track oozes L D R U’s signature electro tropical-pop style, who personally describes the track as “feel-good and vibey,” sharing that Next To You begs you to, “crack a beer and dream about the places and people you want to be with.” It is definitely a track that will liven your mood and bring back those good Summery vibes, no matter if you are stuck inside wearing jumpers as it pours outside.
L D R U is set to play Bryon Bay’s sold out Splendour In The Grass festival in July, alongside artists such as Flume, The 1975 and The Strokes. He also announced a national tour in celebration of his hit single, Keeping Score, and will be hitting up Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne in July.
