Laura Roy Releases Debut Self-Titled EP

Laura Roy, a singer/songwriter from Canada has recently released her debut self-titled EP. Laura has built a large following since sharing the stage with incredible Canadian R&B artists such as Jully Black, JRDN, Ludacris and Rakim. The multi-talented artist and college music graduate, has become known for her captivating, powerhouse vocals and has been dubbed “Best R&B Artist” by Coast Magazine. Laura has also had the opportunity to attend Gordie Sampson Soongcamp, run by Nova Scotia for the last four years where she has worked and been mentored by talented producers and writers, such as Rob Wells (Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande) and Alex Greggs (N’Sync, Lady Gaga). Over the last few years, Laura has refined her song writing abilities and developed her unique sense of musical style.

Laura’s debut self-titled EP comprises of six songs and was written and recorded in both Toronto and New York. The project features a stunning array of incredible powerhouse vocals and soulful melodies over the top of stunning synth-pop and silky, smooth R&B soundscapes. Laura shares that she has, “been working on the EP for the last year and a half. I’ve tried to make sure the music represents my experiences in a way that feels true to who I am as an artist right now”. The EP opens with Don’t Chase The Feeling which is the perfect combination of pop and R&B, which combines gorgeous, bright pop-production with Laura’s sweet, alluring melodies. A stand out on the EP includes, Bright Lights, which is an uplifting number with lyrics filled with adventure and optimism. In a world saturated with pop music, Laura offers something unique and refreshing, with a high standard of production and uplifting, poetic lyrics that immediately connect with the listener.
