International rock superstars Paramore made a huge leap of faith earlier this year when they released the power pop album After Laughter. Having mostly released only rock music before this point, there was a bit of worry that this risky change could have hardcore fans turning their back. Luckily, After Laughter turned out to be a tremendous success, drawing even more fans in and charting #3 on the ARIA charts.
After Laughter is Paramore’s fifth full-length album and the only one to be recorded in their beloved hometown of Nashville – in the historic RCA Studio A. The album was produced by the bands very own guitarist Taylor York as well as Justin Meldal-Johnsen who is known for working with the likes of M83, Jimmy Eat World, and Beck. As well as being a huge genre change for the band, After Laughter also signalled the return of founding member Zac Farro after he and his brother Josh split from the band back in late 2010.
After Laughter featured the hugely successful singles ‘Hard Times’ and ‘Told You So’. Both singles arrived with an accompanying colourful and playful music video. ‘Hard Times’ has received over 50 million views as well as being declared “addictive” by Billboard. The video for ‘Told You So’ was just as successful, managing to garner over 7 million views in its first two weeks alone.
Paramore have built a reputation for having a non-stop exhilarating live act, this February Australians will be able to witness this as Paramore are heading down under for Tour Four in support of After Laughter. This return has been highly anticipated for the last four years as the band’s last headline shows in Australia were back in February 2014. Tour Four will be hitting arenas across the east coast, including Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena, Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena, and Brisbane’s The Riverstage, with special guests yet to be announced. Tickets to all shows will be on sale midday (local time) on Wednesday 15th November.

Led by powerful vocalist Hayley Williams, with Taylor York on guitar and Zac Farro back on drums, Paramore have become a bona fide juggernaut since forming in Nashville back in 2004. Over the band’s existence, they have sold over 6 million albums, from their gold-certified 2005 debut All We Know Is Falling to 2007’s double-platinum breakthrough Riot! As well as the platinum-certified albums Brand New Eye’s in 2009 and their self-titled album in 2013. The band have always been presented with both critical acclaim as well as a wide-ranging list of accolades; this includes multiple Grammy nominations and a win for Best Rock Song for ‘Ain’t It Fun’, two People’s Choice Awards, three NME Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards and a ton more.
The band receives the most praise from their energetic live shows, selling out iconic venues around the world including Madison Square Garden and Wembley Arena, as well as stealing the show at festivals such as Reading and Leeds Festival, Riot Fest and their very own four-day festival cruise Parahoy!
