Wafia Touches on Accepting One’s Sexuality in New Single ‘ONLY LOVE’

‘Sometimes girls fall in love with girls and that’s OK’ – Wafia (via her twitter @wafiaaa)

Electronic R&B artist Wafia has shared with us her newest single ‘Only Love’ from her upcoming VIII EP to be released on January 19th, 2018 through via Future Classics.

The Dutch-born musician with Syrian and Iraqi heritage uses her upcoming, highly anticipated album to tackle the subject of intersectional identity ]. ONLY LOVE is no exception. She actively describes the road to accepting one’s sexuality with lyrics such as “I’m gonna learn how to trust and let go of it all. Enjoy the feeling that I can’t control the way I fall” and “We’ll it’s hard to admit that I long for your touch. Is the honesty okay? Or is it too much.” This single and its home album is clear view into Wafia’s courage and honesty in her music, giving her listeners a daring album that is also scarily significant in our modern times.

Wafia hasn’t stopped there with her headlining Australian tour (with London Grammar as her supporting act) and a following supporting role in BØRNS European tour.
