As their third studio album – self titled ‘Cub Sport’ – is coming closer to its set release date (January 18th), the Brisbane pop angels have given us the second official single from the LP, “Party Pill”. Following these exciting new products, Cub Sport have announced their biggest headline tour to date, taking their new album to stages across Australia throughout April.
“Party Pill” swells on the journey lead singer, Tim, experienced as he was falling in love with his bandmate. Hiding the feelings from himself and everyone around him, they now face their fears and embrace their love privately and publicly.
“Sam and I first fell in love when we were 17 but I was super scared of what would happen if I came out and decided it’d be better for us to just be friends. This part of our story had been weighing on my heart for a long time and I’d held onto a lot of shame and embarrassment, but I realised last year that I needed to let go. So, I finally turned the pain of those years into something beautiful and it feels like I’m setting myself free.” – Tim Nelson
The love-pop anthem also came with visuals directed by the band themselves. Taking the softness and intimacy to another level, this music video shows truly captures the story and the depth of the song well. Here it is below:
