The BEAUTY of Plus-Size (CURVY) Models

s a man, it feels good to embrace the curves of a curvy woman, and imagine them killing that runway with a clean clutch strut. And as for the models, I’m glad to be a fan of the movement; big is beautiful, so why shouldn’t we be able to use the term “Plus-size?” or perhaps “Curvy.” I think I’ll stick with curvy as I believe that it doesn’t merely result to harmful labelling; well in my opinion anyway. We’re surrounded by many different shapes of women: tall, short, pear, apple, hourglass, diamond, oval, and rectangle, but whatever floats your boat, you shouldn’t be embarrassed to accept it. Some people will disagree with me on my perspective that these women are as beautiful as the taste of love and that’s fine, because everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Retailers need to do more by displaying at least size 14 mannequins rather than size 10, and I don’t see much here in the UK which is near enough probably none, so why not push pass the boundaries that many people in society deem to be unacceptable? Just because they’re bigger than the doctors “average,” it doesn’t mean they’re unhealthy. As long as it doesn’t directly affect their health then it’s fine to be of such size. I am more than happy to see more curvy women feeling comfortable about themselves as society already makes women that they don’t consider to be “perfect” lack in confidence, to the point where some end up presenting themselves as objects rather than intellectual minds.

Now for the lavish Victoria’s secret. I do hope they welcome the range of extended sizes of lingerie into their collection because curvy models want to feel sexy too in high class fashionable underclothes. The likes of these models creating a powerful parade down the biggest runaways in the world, to having that sexy lingerie in one of the biggest retailers go on sale would be amazing. They deserve to be treated just like any other model on the catwalk; be publicised just like anyone else, and have the same privileges as every other supermodel. Come on and raise your standards, without these curvy models, we all know that the world would be a trifling boring place. Raise your bands for your brand, and make a toast to the new born fashion industry that will turn heads quicker than a Cheetah can run.

So let me just set one thing straight, everyone deserves to be loved that come in all different shapes and sizes, and we have some really pretty women too. From: Denise Bidot, Ashley Graham, Chloe Marshall, Nadia aboulhosn and Alex LaRosa, to Mariesther Venegas, Allison McGevna, Joanne Borgella, Rosie Mercado, and Anita Marshall. Just look at those beautiful faces with those killer curves; I’m sure there are many men like me who espouse the characteristics these models own. And I don’t mean looking at these women as sex objects, but purely that beauty isn’t defined by size even though no matter how big they are one can still be sultry, but more to do with making them feel bootylicious as they are.

No one can void the beauty of what I can see. Sometimes I ween, why cannot everyone see what I can see? Or is it that I’m just not afraid to speak out for what I believe in amongst how these women should be made to feel? Either way, they don’t need validation from anyone but themselves; as far as I can see, they’re already conscious as to how body positive they feel about themselves in their own skin. Last but not least, what defines a woman is her inner persona (inner-self). When you can look into her eyes and see her beautiful soul, it’s a wonderful world from where you’re standing, and size doesn’t expound her beauty; it’s her mind state.

Furthermore, there are still some walls to be broken down however, it looks like plus-size women (sorry, but I just had to say it this time round) are creating a tidal wave of beauty and more women are coming forward feeling gorgeous about themselves. And I always say, give it everything you’ve got; the cameras are made for you too baby, so don’t let anyone break you down because you’re just as good as everyone else to walk that runway; especially Victoria’s secret aisle.
